"I AM THE DOOR" FOR 2002

STANDING AT THE THRESHHOLD
New beginnings! New birth! Green pastures! Life in
all its fullness! Have you been satisfied with your
life during this past year? Perhaps you need to start
over. We got off on the wrong foot at birth. That’s
why Christ says: “Humans can reproduce only human
life, but the Holy Spirit gives new life from heaven.
So don’t be surprised at my statement that you must be
born again” (John 3:6, 7). Perhaps, like myself, you
have just turned 66; however, if you haven’t been born
of the Spirit, you need a new beginning. Nicodemas
had a difficult time understanding this.
I just sent you the testimony of my brother, Vern—
five years my junior. On Christmas morn, 1980, he
stood at the threshold of a new beginning. Since then
he has followed Christ through green pastures, he has
found life in all its fullness!! Today my brother
Vern has a world-wide web-site ministry entitled: “Somebody
cares for you.” You also need to read Vern’s 78-page
book entitled HOPE FOR THE HOPELESS.
Back in 1958 having been married just one year and
while on our first pastorate, I wrote a small booklet
entitled THE OPEN DOOR. The cover page was of an open
door. Through this open door was the southern
hemisphere of our globe, looking down across Mexico,
Central America and Colombia and points south. Within
the booklet covers was a synopsis of each Latin
American country—its predominant religion (which is
Catholicism in Latin American countries); its language
(Spanish with the exception of Brazil which speaks
Portuguese); its capitol and population etc.
The exciting thing is that we have our foot within the
door. First Mexico, then Huils, Colombia, in the
cordieros (or backbone) of the country, next the three
sisters frontiers based out of Leticia, Casa Grande,
Colombia, and finally—the regions beyond. By January
5, 2002, AMA will be taking a BIG, BOLD STEP. We will
be holding two 3-day campañas, one in Corpus Christi,
Peru, the other in Iquitos. The launch and the
Wood-Mizer sawmill will be busy on through the rainy
season. We are also planning further evangelism in
AMAZON OUTREACHES within the three countries, and way
up within the Peru-Ecuadorian frontier. We are just
within the threshold of 2002!
