TRIBUTE TO YOUR MISSIONARIES
by an unknown contributor
January 29, 2002
From the first introduction by a friend and “ALONG
RIVER TRAILS,” my heart has knit with yours.
Your call to meet the challenge, accept
responsibilities, encourage others, inspire your
listening audience, instruct your fellowman, and
inject enthusiasm: these radiate from the aura of God
in your lives. It reminds me of the scripture—many
are called but few are chosen. And still the mission
opens wider, and we like Jabez of old must cry,
“Enlarge our ministry, Lord.” I love you though we
have never met. The love of God flows through your
appearance, through your spirit and through your word.
If you want something done, ask a busy person! And
so God called you dear folks.
I love you!

Missionary Jean writes:
First of all, I want to thank our “unknown friend” for
the above tribute. Only God knows how much it meant
to Erwin and me. Yes, adventures and challenges lay
just ahead. Marvelous attainments were realized on
the recent evangelistic trip with Black Buffalo. The
winding river-boat trip along the shores of the deep
Amazon jungle was so exhilarating—but the great things
God has done are answers to prayer that enliven our
souls. A new dimension has opened up for Mission AMA
from Leticia to Iquitos, Peru. Your faithful prayers
and financial support are so greatly appreciated.
All because of Calvary, Jean Bourne
My wife, Jean—after being tied to exhaustive duties
here at the Casa Grande—surely deserved the ten days
she got to spend on the Amazon and in the three
Peruvian cities—Caballo Cocha, Iquitos and Nauta. Her
sainted mother whom I never knew, prayed that one of
her children could be a missionary. Jean and I ask
for your prayers that “our strength may match the
length of our days!” (Deut. 33:25 NLT).
Yours for OUTREACH AMAZON
