“QUITE CONTENT WITH MY WEKNESSES"
February 8, 2002
“When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you’d like to smile, but you have to sigh;
When cares are pressing you down a bit—
Well, rest if you must, but don’t you quit.”
“When cares are pressing me down a bit”—That’s when I
resort to writing. Writing is a source of relaxation.
It is also a time of diligent Bible study. You will
notice that my title today is taken from II
Corinthians 12:10 (NLT): Since I know it is all for
Christ’s good, I am quite content with my weaknesses.
I’ve told you just how much I like poetry, and I’ve
memorized quite a bit. Here’s one of the amusing
quips I’ve quoted in fitting moments: We the willing
led by the unknowing are doing the impossible for the
ungrateful. We have done so much for so long with so
little that we are now qualified to do anything with
nothing!
Since I’m on a rather humorous trend today, let me
give you the latest which gave me quite a chuckle. A
good stateside friend of mine who has visited here at
the Casa Grande, responded to my recent article
entitled, HARDSHIPS AND CALAMITIES. He writes: "I
will see if the Lord will open for us a way to help
you out there as I know of the importance of your
situation. My friend is correct in his evaluation of
our work in Amazonas, and of the criticalness of our
situation." He is dead serious as he continues to
write: "Pray for our company I.H.N. " In His Name ,"
This will go on to Wall Street in the next few months,
and we will have funds to help you out."
“Thank you, dear friend. I am taking you seriously;
however, the very thought strikes me funny. So be
sure, I’ll pray “In His name.” Praise God!
I repeat, I am quite content with my weaknesses.
Notice from Solomon’s writings, A cheerful heart is
good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s
strength (Prov. 17:22 (NLT). Do dare to pray
something different.
Yours for OUTREACH AMAZON
