"Secret sins" slowly become a noose tightening slowly around the neck of the unsuspecting. Many have realized the convenience of the internet to hide in a corner of their house, surfing the net, and supposing this kind of viewing is harmless.
This article will probably be about as popular as bumping into a cactus, but can I challenge you to read it completely? Here's some subtle traps to watch out for...
1. E-mail:
Sent by people you don't know. They trick some into opening e-mail that sends
them to pornographic websites. Many get ensnared carnally this way.
2. Buddy
Chats and Chat Rooms: Of course there's nothing wrong with Buddy Chats & Chat
Rooms in and of themselves, but beware of meeting people on the internet and
striking up a cyberspace relationship with them. Chat Rooms become
fantasy escapes to get into intimate conversations for satisfaction of carnal
lusts. Please, please avoid this at all costs. Some resort to Buddy Chats
because their marriage is stalled, or because they're lonely.
3. The
internet overall: That's right, don't let even proper use of the internet
become an idol that consumes your family time, your time with living breathing
people, or your time in the Word of God and prayer.
I know for ministers, it seems a vacation is out of the question, you've faced people's problems all day, and you may feel a need to "escape" from it all. I ask you to not make the internet your source of escape. It's funny, because at one time, it was television we were talking about, and then cable, and now it's the internet.
Don't condemn yourself, but as the apostle Paul said; Turn on the light, Wake up, and Christ will give you light (revelation) to overcome it! Don't walk as fools, but wise, and you'll REDEEM even the time that was lost.
I declare in Jesus Name, that God turns on the light concerning the internet, and that marriages are restored, ministries are redeemed, and lives are made free from this present day trap. I decree in Jesus Name, that the internet become God's tool of flooding LIGHT into this generation! What was a trap shall become a tool to manifest God's Kingdom! In Jesus Name! Amen!

"BREAKING THE CHAINS"
Dear Brothers and Sisters, if right now
you feel God tugging at your heart strings, please don't ignore it. It will
only get worse.
I know, I was there for a lot longer
than I care to admit, but I did something about it. I got sick and tired of
sneaking around fearing and dreading the next time I'd be caught,
knowing how it was breaking my wife's heart every time I tried to lie my way
out of it.
I cried out to God for help and
kept crying for help knowing I couldn't break the chains of addiction to
internet porn by myself.
Then I went on the internet and typed
in " ADDICTION TO PORNOGRAPHY" and was led to a site called "SETTING CAPTIVES
FREE" and ordered the course.
I then did one of the most
difficult things I've ever done. I made an appointment with my Pastor whom I'd
known for many years. A man who believed in me and for years had
supported this very ministry as we reach out to help others in need.
I confessed to him that I'd been living
a lie and asked for his forgiveness. He prayed, I prayed. I cried my
heart out to God asking his forgiveness and for Grace, (the desire and power)
to do his will. I then went home and confessed to my wife how I had been
unfaithful every time I viewed porn on the internet and pleaded
for her forgiveness. I asked her to help me be accountable for my
actions and to question me daily (in a loving spirit). She agreed and I agreed that I
would be honest with her, no matter what.
Friends let me tell you something
wonderful has happened. The chains of bondage have been broken
.
God has set me free. Faithfully reading the
daily lessons in the "Setting captives free" helped me understand the Biblical
principles in dealing with addictions. What was formally such a powerful magnet
has become repulsive to me. My personal relationship with Christ has been
restored and I have a
peace
in
my
heart that paseth all understanding. May God be
the glory!
I do not confess this wretched sin in my life because I was caught and am
making an attempt to wriggle my way out of a bad situation. I tell you this to
let you know that there are thousands of people, including Ministers who
have been snared by this insidious evil so readily available
through the internet. It will destroy Christianity like a cancer if we don't stop and admit that
there's a monster in our homes that is no longer a dirty little secret we can
hide under the mattress.
If you are one of the thousands that has
been caught up in this evil trap, (even if you are a minister), please, please make
the decision to stop trying to quite by yourself.
"It can't be done." Take the
necessary steps to a full recovery that only God can give you.
Feel free to contact me if you want. You've gotta start someplace. If
you don't talk about it to some one, it will remain your dirty little secret.
Better yet, go to
Setting Captives Free
Before I close, I want to pass on a POWERFUL prayer of deliverance.
When temptation comes, and it will, here’s the most powerful prayer I
know of. It’s a prayer every Christian should have memorized so
completely that it’s on the tip of the tongue at any given moment. This
is the prayer.
“In the name and through the blood of the lord Jesus Christ, Bind
satan in my mind, will and emotions. Don’t allow satan any aid or
benefit from any false reasoning in my mind“. Amen
Yours in Christ,
Brother Vern
