You Can Resist Temptation

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ. Know that the

moment you accepted Christ as your personal

Savior, satan started accusing you before God.

Understand that satan is limited in what he and his

demons can do. Unlike God, satan can only be in

one place at a time so he uses his demons to help

do his dirty work.

Satan cannot do anything to a born again believer

without God's permission. So why, you ask, has God

given satan permission to attack me? God uses

satan to help grow and strengthen his children. He

does not what us to be defeated or discouraged.

HE WANTS US TO RELY ON HIM FOR POWER,

STRENGTH, WISDOM AND GUIDANCE instead of

trusting in human abilities. It also is a reassuring

sign that you are doing what God wants you to do.

Satan would not be attacking you if you weren't.

Remember, God the father gave satan permission to

tempt Jesus. You need to petition God to stop satan.

A prayer might go something like this....

Dear God, in the name and through the blood of

your precious son Jesus Christ, bind satan in my life.

Don't allow satan any further aid or benefit from any

false reasoning I may have in my mind. Protect me

from evil and don't give satan permission to harm

me. Strengthen me Lord and continue to show me

the way. I pray these things in Jesus name, amen.

There is great power in prayer. God is teaching you

how to rely on him for your every need. Praying for

God to strengthen you may result in more challenges

that you will face. That's how he teaches us to be

strong.

James 4:7

Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil,

and he will flee from you.
